The Global AI Confessions Report: CEO Edition from Dataiku, based on a Harris Poll
survey of 500 CEOs worldwide, reveals a stark reality: AI success is now a
career-defining mandate for top executives. A staggering 74% of CEOs admit they could be
out of a job within two years if they fail to deliver measurable AI-driven business
gains.
With 70% in agreement that it is very likely a fellow CEO will be ousted before the end
of 2025 due to a failed AI strategy or AI-related crisis, the pressure is undeniable.
Adding to this, more than half (54%) of CEOs acknowledge that at least one competitor
has already deployed a superior AI strategy, signaling an urgent need for leadership to
move beyond just AI ambition and into tangible execution.
The survey also unveils an evolving corporate power dynamic — 94% of CEOs agree that an
AI agent could provide equal or better counsel on business decisions than a human board
member, and 89% believe AI can develop a better strategic plan than one or more of their
own executive leaders.
